The Iranian keeper

Iran, 2009. In a park near Tehran Bazaar, acknowledging I am Italian, the security guard leads me to a statue of a man I surely know: Dante Alighieri, Italian poet of the XIII century. “Do you know him?”
“I am Italian, of course I know him. How do YOU know him?”
“I am Iranian. We love poems.”
Watercolor, 2018
